01 · 인연
Inyeon (인연) is a Korean word of Buddhist origin. It names the bond that ties two people together beyond chance: the invisible reason their paths cross, sometimes across several lifetimes. A Korean proverb says that "even brushing sleeves is inyeon". For a Korean adoptee these threads carry a special meaning. A birth mother, a sibling sent to another country, an orphanage friend whose name is lost: inyeon says these bonds have not vanished, they are waiting to be found. That is why our network carries this name.

What adoptees most often ask us before joining the network.
The network is reserved for people adopted from Korea, whatever their adoptive country. Access is by invitation from a member, or by request through our form, reviewed by the moderation team.
Fill in the join request form. We take the time to read every request, then send you a signup link. Once your profile is completed and approved, you get access to the whole network.
That is its purpose. The network cross-references the details members provide, such as agency, orphanage, birth city, dates and arrival flights, and suggests people whose story overlaps with yours. A suggestion is a lead to verify together, never a certainty.
Sensitive data is encrypted, every field of your profile has a visibility setting you control, and nothing is visible outside the community. Search engines cannot access profiles. An ethics committee oversees how the network operates.
Inyeon (인연, 因緣) is a Korean word of Buddhist origin naming the bond between two people, woven by causes and circumstances beyond them. The film Past Lives introduced it to the world. We dedicate a full page to it.
